Hardscapes: dry stacked limestone retaining wall and decorative boulders

A retaining wall is an ideal solution for transitioning from a steep grade or to outline a plant bed or area of focus.  Consider a dry stacked limestone retaining wall for a landscaping application, large or small stone.

The use of large boulders in a landscaping plan is a creative option to establish an element of interest, especially in a plant bed, yard, or pool area.

Drainage solutions

A potential solution to address water pooling around a gravel or dirt road is to install a culvert pipe which is constructed of concrete, plastic, or metal. Also, using rip rap around a culvert pipe opening will help to mitigate soil erosion.  In certain applications, adding dry stack limestone to line walls beyond a culvert pipe opening as well as above it will provide a decorative appeal and control water erosion.

To address water related issues such as pooling in low areas or gravel driveway washout, the construction of a swale will provide a channel for proper water drainage.  Additionally, planting grass or lining the swale trough with rip rap will help to prevent soil erosion.  Alternatively, the application of a French drain is another potential solution to facilitate proper water flow in a low area where standing water is present.

To redirect rain runoff away from a foundation, consider an underground corrugated pipe solution which transfers water from a gutter downspout to another area on the property.

Landscaping cleanup and tree planting

Another service offered is the removal and disposal of unwanted landscaping plants, shrubs, or trees around a property.  Additional assistance is available for planting trees or other large vegetation.
